Chandigarh: Harjinder Singh Dhami, the president of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), appeared before the Punjab State Women Commission on Monday following a complaint regarding alleged derogatory remarks made against former SGPC president Jagir Kaur.
The complaint stems from statements Dhami allegedly made during a phone call with one of media persons.

Bibi Jagir Kaur, a veteran political figure and the first woman president of the SGPC, had taken issue with the remarks, which she claimed were defamatory and offensive.
The Women's Commission took cognizance of the matter and summoned Dhami for clarification.
