Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on March 13, transferring Rs 18,640 crore directly into the bank accounts of over 9.32 crore registered farmers.

The amount will be digitally transferred from Guwahati in Assam under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. With this installment, the total funds disbursed under the PM-Kisan scheme will exceed Rs 4.27 lakh crore since its launch.

Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive financial assistance of Rs 6,000 per year in three equal installments that are deposited directly into their bank accounts.

Ahead of the payment, the Centre on Wednesday urged farmers to verify their details on the PM-Kisan portal and complete the mandatory e-KYC process to ensure that the installment reaches them without delay.

Farmers can check their payment and eligibility status through the ‘Know Your Status’ (KYS) module available on the portal. The feature provides information related to payment history, Aadhaar linking, land records and e-KYC completion.

The government has also launched a face authentication-based mobile application that enables farmers to complete e-KYC from home without requiring an OTP or biometric device. State and village-level nodal officers are assisting farmers in the process.
