Gurney, Patel star in Nottinghamshire's maiden T20 title

Warwickshire had won four successive games. But when it came to the most important one, which was the final of the NatWest t20 Blast, they were outdone by a very plucky Nottinghamshire on Saturday (September 2), who were crowned winners of the NatWest t20 Blast 2017 after a 22-run win at Edgbaston, Birmingham. They got their second title of the year.

Chasing a lofty 191, Warwickshire were set back early, losing quick wickets up front. Brendon Taylor and Samit Patel scored their half-centuries while playing in the final match against Warwickshire. Brendon Taylor scored 65 runs while Samit Patel scored 64 runs not out. Chasing a target of 190 runs in 20 overs Warwickshire scored only 168 runs and lost the final match by 22 runs. Samit Patel was choosen as the Man of the Match for his 64 runs from just 42 balls with 4 fours and 4 sixes.

Joe Denly from Kent finished as the top run-getter with 567 runs in 14 games, while Clint McKay from Leicestershire had the most wickets with 23,
