Amritsar:
The Woman police station has booked Kanwaljit
Singh of Nausherha Dhalla village for “bigamy and demanding dowry” from
his wife. The police also booked his father Lakhwinder Singh and mother
Jasbir Kaur under the Dowry Prohibition Act.
Paramjit Kaur, the victim,
alleged that her daughter Akashdeep Kaur’s marriage with Kanwaljit was
solemnised in April 2015. He along with his family started harassing
her. Adding on, the accused got married to
another woman without getting divorce from Akashdeep.
