Chandigarh (Spokesman News Service), 10th Oct'18: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 281182.5 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 9. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 281182.5 MT of paddy from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 264343.5 MT of paddy while 16839 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 75987 tonnes, MARKFED procured 69162.5 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 56912 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 28014 and 32495 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 1782 MT paddy.
