Punjab Roadways, PRTC Bus Strike Latest News Today: The ongoing strike by the PRTC and Punjab Roadways Contractual Union is set to conclude by the end of the day, with bus services resuming from tomorrow. However, union leaders have warned that if their demands are not addressed during the crucial meeting scheduled with officials on January 15 at 11:30 AM, a massive protest will be launched on January 16.

The strike, organized by the Punjab Roadways, Punbus, PRTC Contract Workers’ Union, involved around 8,000 contractual employees. It affected nearly 2,800 buses as the demonstrations were being held at all 27 bus depots across Punjab.

Union president Resham Singh Gill had said that the employees were demanding the regularization of their jobs, a salary hike, and other employment benefits. 

Commuters faced significant inconvenience as they were left without reliable transportation options, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas heavily dependent on state-run buses.
