The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday issued an orange alert for heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning in Punjab on June 1, 2024. However, the latest update by IMD indicates a change in the forecast.
Some cities in Punjab like Patiala, Rajpura, Dera Basi, Patti, Tarn Taran, Khadur Sahib, Baba Bakala, Amritsar, Batala, Anjala, Dera Baba Nanak, Gurdaspur are now expected to experience moderate rain, thunderstorm and lightning,
Whereas, light rain is very likely over parts of Punjab like Sardulgarh, Budhlada, Mansa, Tapa, Samana, Nabha, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Talwandi Sabo, Abohar, Malout, Bathinda, Gidderbaha, Fazilka, Rampura Phul, Jaitu, Muktsar, Jalalabad, Bagha Purana, Faridkot, Firozpur, Zira, Shahkot, Sultanpur Lodhi, Nihal Singhwala, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Bhulath, Dasua, Mukerian.
