Governor of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana ESL Narasimhan, former Union Minister and BJP MP Bandaru Dattatreya were among prominent personalities who participated in the International Yoga Day celebrations here today. Narasimhan, who took part in the Yoga day event held at Raj Bhavan, performed yoga asanas along with school children and others. Dattatreya, state BJP president K Laxman and other BJP leaders participated in the yoga day, organised by Jai Bharat Foundation in association with Telangana Yoga Association at Sanjeevayya Park on the banks of the Hussain Sagar lake.

Hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiatives in promoting yoga, Dattatreya said the ancient system offers multiple benefits to its practitioners. Yoga is not related to any religion, he said. The International Yoga Day was celebrated at various Central and state government offices.
