Has flagged certain issues with the preliminary report released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation over the air crash.

Plea Filed In SC Seeking Govt To Publish Complete Data From Crashed Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner: A plea had been filed in the Supreme Court seeking directions to the Centre to publish the complete data retrieved from the crashed Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which met with a fatal accident on June 12, 2025, in Ahmedabad, killing 260 people.

The aircraft was heading to London’s Gatwick airport when the accident occurred.

The plea filed by the NGO Safety Matters Foundation has flagged certain issues with the preliminary report released by the Ministry of Civil Aviation over the air crash.

It contends that the report has failed to disseminate all data obtained during the early stage of the air crash investigation, as it is required to do under Aircraft (Investigation of Accidents and Incidents) Rules, 2017.

Additionally, the plea also alleged that the preliminary report fails to incorporate or even acknowledge the testimony of the sole surviving passenger, Vishwashkumar Ramesh, a 40-year-old businessman from Leicester.

According to a report by the Indian Express, the NGO was founded by Amit Singh, a pilot with over 17,000 hours of flying experience on Boeing 777 and Airbus 320.

The AI171 had crashed near the Ahmedabad airport, killing all but one passenger onboard, and 20 students of a medical college it hit.

In a separate development, the families of four victims of the June 12 crash of the flight have filed a lawsuit against US planemaker Boeing and aerospace suppliers Honeywell, according to a report by the Indian Express, alleging that faulty cockpit fuel switches led to the horrific accident.
