Nine persons were injured in a communal clash in Sikriakala village in Gadwar area here, police said today. The incident took place yesterday night when a youth belonging to a particular community allegedly pushed and misbehaved with a girl of another community at a marriage ceremony in the village, they said.
After this, both communities came face to face and indulged in stone pelting in which nine persons were injured. Cross FIRs have been registered by both groups in this connection. Six persons have been arrested in this connection, SP Sriparna Ganguly said. A heavy force has been deployed in the village to check any untoward incident.
