Prices of both varieties of sugar weakened further at the Vashi wholesale market here today following reduced demand from stockists and bulk consumers amid ample supply from producing region.
Small sugar (S-30) dipped by Rs 30/35 per quintal to Rs 2,632/2,745 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 2,662/2,780.
Medium sugar (M-30) also slid by Rs 10/18 per quintal to Rs 2,730/2,882 as compared to Rs 2,740/2,900.

Following are today's closing rates for sugar (per quintal) with the previous rates given in brackets:
Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 2,632/2,745 (Rs 2,662/2,780).
Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 2,730/2,882 (Rs 2,740/2,900).
