Family spoke to Amanjot after the match but could not talk much as she was emotional.

India’s women’s cricket team scripted history yesterday by winning their first-ever World Cup after defeating South Africa in the finals at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium.

Among the players who made the entire nation proud with their hard work and achievement was Amanjot Kaur from Mohali, Punjab.

Following this massive victory, the cricketer’s family back home in Mohali is planning to welcome her with a grand celebration.

Amanjot Kaur’s mother, Ranjit Kaur, expressing her happiness over the win, said the family spoke to Amanjot after the match but could not talk much as she was emotional.

“She will come in 7-8 days and will be given a grand welcome,” Ranjit Kaur told ANI.

Here's what Amanjot Kaur’s Coach said about her performance after the historic win

Amanjot Kaur’s Coach Nagesh Gupta called the crucial catch of hers a "turning point" of the match.

Coach Nagesh Gupta, speaking about Kaur's performance, told ANI, "The Indian Women's Cricket Team has made history by winning the World Cup, bringing immense joy and pride to the nation. They won the first two matches, lost three, and then made a strong comeback, defeating Australia in the semifinals and securing the final victory. Amanjot Kaur's crucial catch was a turning point in the match. This win is remarkable, as it breaks England and Australia's 25-year dominance in the Women's Cricket World Cup..."
