On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate several key infrastructure and urban development projects in Delhi, including two new metro corridors, with a total investment of around 33,500 crore rupees.

The metro expansions aim to improve connectivity across multiple neighborhoods. The 12.3-kilometre Majlis Park–Maujpur Babarpur (Pink Line) and the 9.9-kilometre Dipali Chowk–Majlis Park (Magenta Line) will serve areas including Burari, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Madhuban Chowk, Haiderpur, Bhalswa, and Majlis Park.

Phase 5A of the Delhi Metro project will see Modi laying the foundation for three additional corridors covering 16.1 kilometres: RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, Aerocity to IGI Airport Terminal 1, and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. These routes are expected to reduce travel time and enhance access between South Delhi, Noida, and the airport.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the GPRA redevelopment initiative in Sarojini Nagar, handing over keys to female residents of Type-5 quarters. The project, valued at 15,200 crore rupees, will provide over 9,350 modern flats for government employees and add approximately 48 lakh square feet of office space, boosting administrative efficiency.

Officials highlighted that these measures will modernize urban infrastructure, expand residential and office facilities, and make daily commuting and government operations more efficient, reflecting the administration’s commitment to accessibility and modernization in the national capital.
