America: Elon Musk Is “Becoming a Train Wreck,” Says Trump After Musk Launches New Political Party
The rivalry between former allies, President Donald Trump and tech giant Elon Musk, escalated further on Monday, as Trump publicly slammed Musk for launching a new political party, marking a fresh chapter in their increasingly public feud.
Trump said Elon is “completely going off the rails” and even called him a "train wreck" after Musk criticized Trump’s "Big Beautiful Bill" and launched a new political party in the United States. In his post, Trump said that third political parties have “never succeeded in the United States.”
In a lengthy post on Monday, Trump wrote, “I am saddened to watch Elon Musk go completely ‘off the rails,’ essentially becoming a TRAIN WRECK over the past five weeks. He even wants to start a Third Political Party, despite the fact that they have never succeeded in the United States – The System seems not designed for them.”
He further said that third political parties create “Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS.”
“The one thing Third Parties are good for is the creation of Complete and Total DISRUPTION & CHAOS, and we have enough of that with the Radical Left Democrats, who have lost their confidence and their minds! Republicans, on the other hand, are a smooth running ‘machine,’ that just passed the biggest Bill of its kind in the History of our Country,” Trump said.
Trump’s "Big Beautiful Bill," which Elon Musk had opposed by calling it the "Big Ugly Bill," was passed latest week. According to Trump,
“It is a Great Bill but, unfortunately for Elon, it eliminates the ridiculous Electric Vehicle (EV) Mandate, which would have forced everyone to buy an Electric Car in a short period of time. I have been strongly opposed to that from the very beginning. People are now allowed to buy whatever they want – Gasoline Powered, Hybrids (which are doing very well), or New Technologies as they come about – No more EV Mandate.”
He added that he had “strongly” opposed the EV mandate from the “very beginning.”
Trump explained,“I campaigned on this for two years and, quite honestly, when Elon gave me his total and unquestioned Endorsement, I asked him whether or not he knew that I was going to terminate the EV Mandate – It was in every speech I made, and in every conversation I had. He said he had no problems with that – I was very surprised!”
Trump also took a dig at one of Elon Musk’s close friends. In December, President Trump had nominated billionaire private astronaut Jared Isaacman as NASA Administrator, but later withdrew the nomination on May 31—just before his Senate confirmation vote—without explanation, as reported by Hindustan Times.
Trump stated, “Additionally, Elon asked that one of his close friends run NASA and, while I thought his friend was very good, I was surprised to learn that he was a blue-blooded Democrat, who had never contributed to a Republican before. Elon probably was, also. I also thought it inappropriate that a very close friend of Elon, who was in the Space Business, run NASA, when NASA is such a big part of Elon’s corporate life. My Number One charge is to protect the American Public!”
In response, Elon Musk reacted to Trump’s post on Truth Social, stating that he had “never heard” of the U.S. President’s social media platform.
However, according to a Hindustan Times report, in 2022 Elon had said that Truth Social was "beating" Twitter (now renamed X) and TikTok on the App Store.
In a separate post, Musk questioned Trump’s financial policies, asking, “What the heck was the point of DOGE if he’s just going to increase the debt by $5 trillion??”
On Saturday, Elon Musk announced the formation of the "America Party" in direct response to the U.S. President's "Big, Beautiful Bill," which Musk claims would “bankrupt” the country.
