Uttarakhand News: Joint Patrolling at Uttarakhand Border as Situation Worsens in Nepal: In view of the prevailing situation in Nepal, joint patrolling and surveillance are being carried out in the border areas of Pithoragarh, the Uttarakhand Police Headquarters said in a statement.
The state police are fully vigilant and on alert. PHQ stated that Uttarakhand shares a direct border with Nepal, and accordingly, joint patrolling and surveillance are being carried out in the border areas of Pithoragarh by the police force and the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).

Nepal is in complete chaos following the Gen Z-led protest against corruption in the country. The situation remains critical as government buildings were vandalized, and offices and houses of several former Prime Ministers were set on fire after 19 young protesters were killed in firing by police in Kathmandu.

The home of former PM Jhalanath Khanal was set on fire, killing his wife Rajyalaxmi Chitrakar. Former PM Sher Bahadur Deuba was beaten up by the mob. He was saved by the army.

The protest escalated after the government banned 26 social media platforms, including WhatsApp, YouTube, X, and Facebook, citing that the companies refused to register under state oversight.

Prime Minister K. P. Sharma Oli has given his resignation and was reportedly seen fleeing in a helicopter. President Ram Chandra Poudel is reportedly at an undisclosed location under the protection of the Army.
