Two FIRs have been registered in the Kotkapura Firing Case

FARIDKOT: Shiromani Akali Dal President and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal appeared in the Faridkot court today in the Kotkapura Firing case. Apart from him, no one else named in this case has appeared in the Faridkot court yet. He had applied in the court for a short appearance. The court has now fixed the next hearing in this matter on June 14.

A day before the death of late former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, the special investigation team led by ADGP LK Yadav and SSP Bathinda Gulneet Singh Khurana had submitted a 2400-page supplementary challan in the Kotkapura Firing case.

Late former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, Akali Dal chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini,  then I.G. Paramraj Umranangal, SSP Moga Charanjit Sharma, SSP Faridkot Sukhmander Mann, DIG Ferozepur Amar Singh Chahal and City Police station incharge Gurdeep Singh have been made accused in the charge sheet of the special investigation team. 

It is worth mentioning here that earlier on 24 February 2022, a charge sheet of 7,000 pages was filed in the Faridkot court. Two FIRs have been registered in the Kotkapura Firing case.
