Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, Batala Police has successfully traced and solved the grenade blast cases in Jaintipur and Raimal, marking the resolution of all grenade blast incidents in Punjab. The operation led to the arrest of key accused Mohit and Vishal. Mohit, who hurled the grenade, while being taken for weapon recovery, opened fire on the police party. In the ensuing retaliatory fire, he sustained injuries and has been shifted to Civil Hospital, Batala, for treatment.  

Timeline of Incidents  

 1. January 15, 2025 – A grenade attack was carried out at the residence of Pappu Jaintipuria , Amritsar, in Jaintipur.  

 2. February 17, 2025 (8:00 PM) – A grenade was lobbed at the residence of Constable of Punjab Police in Raimal.  

Both attacks were claimed by Happy Pachhia , a USA-based terrorist, through social media posts.  

 Breakthrough in Investigation  

After relentless efforts and a detailed investigation, Batala Police successfully traced the case and apprehended key accused:  

- Mohit s/o Jaspal, resident of Buddhe di Khui, who personally carried out the grenade attack at Constables house.(Arrested)

- Vishal Bhatti s/o Sajjan, resident of Basarpura, Batala.(Arrested)

- Ravinder Singh, resident of Buddhe di Khui.(Yet to be arrested)

- Rajbir S/O: Amarbir resident of Buddhe di Khui (Yet to be arrested)

 Recovery of Weapons  

Following the arrests, Batala Police took Mohit to recover the weapons used in the attack. However, during the operation, Mohit attempted to escape and opened fire on the police party. In the ensuing retaliatory action, Mohit sustained bullet injuries and he is being shifted to Civil Hospital, Batala , for treatment.  

During the operation, police recovered: One 30-bore pistol, used by Mohit to fire at the police party.
