Chandigarh  : State Vigilance Bureau today nabbed a Secretary of Cooperative Service Society at village Baran, Patiala district red handed for accepting bribe of Rs.10,000. Disclosing this here today a spokesman of Vigilance Bureau Punjab said Gurtej Singh Secretary cooperative society was caught red handed on the complaint of Ajaib Singh of village Baran, Patiala district.Givin details he said the complainant approached the VB and alleged that Gurtej Singh was demanding Rs. 45,000 from him to waive off

his agriculture loan which was being written off under state debt relief plan and he had already paid Rs.35,000 as first installment. After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused Secretary was caught red handed and Rs. 10,000 of second installment was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses. He informed that a case under Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against both the accused at VB police station Patiala and further investigation was under progress.
