Stubble Burning in Punjab, Bathinda Air Pollution Quality Latest News Today: Incidents of stubble burning have started to rapidly increase across Punjab, causing a sharp rise in air pollution. This is evident from the fact that the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Bathinda reached 500 on Dussehra day.

An AQI of 500 is considered extremely hazardous, and prolonged exposure to air of this quality can be harmful even to healthy individuals.

The rising AQI in other districts of Punjab is also a significant concern. The state government has been actively raising awareness among farmers, urging them to avoid burning stubble.

In addition, special teams have been deployed in each district to take immediate action whenever stubble burning occurs. These actions include fining the responsible farmers and filing cases against them. According to data from the Punjab Pollution Control Board, AQI levels have remained above 100 in most districts over the past few days, signaling a growing environmental crisis.
