High Court Dismisses Petitions on Panchayat Elections, Confirms Polls to Proceed as Scheduled

Punjab Panchayat elections are set to take place on October 15, 2024.

Punjab Latest News Today: The Punjab and Haryana High Court has dismissed approximately 170 petitions challenging the conduct of Panchayat elections in Punjab. The court, while issuing specific directions in various matters, upheld that the elections will proceed as per the scheduled timeline.

The Punjab Panchayat elections are set to take place on October 15, 2024. The election process includes the following schedule:

- Nominations: October 1 to October 5, 2024
- Scrutiny of Nominations: October 6, 2024
- Withdrawal of Candidatures: October 8, 2024
- Polling Date: October 15, 2024
- Counting of Votes: October 17, 2024

The court's decision ensures that the electoral process remains on track, allowing citizens to participate in the democratic process without delays.
