Jishnu Dev Varma Arrives in Mumbai Ahead of Maharashtra Governor Swearing-In
Jishnu Dev Varma, appointed as Maharashtra’s new Governor, arrived in Mumbai on Monday ahead of his swearing-in ceremony. The oath is scheduled for March 10 at Lok Bhavan in South Mumbai.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis received Varma and his wife, Sudha Dev Varma, at the airport. The arrival was attended by several senior officials, including Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Sunetra Pawar , Maharashtra Legislative Council Chair Ram Shinde, Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde, DGP Sadanand Date, and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti.
The ceremony on March 10 will mark Varma officially assuming office as the constitutional head of Maharashtra. Varma’s arrival in Mumbai completes the final steps before he formally takes charge, with all arrangements in place for the upcoming swearing-in.
