Merchant Navy Chief Engineer sent a video to his brother

JAIPUR: Nine people from India are stuck in Tripoli, Libya for almost 2 months. Armed people have abducted these people and kept them hostage at a port on the Mediterranean Sea. A Merchant Navy Chief Engineer Karmapal (36) from Jhunjhunu City in Rajasthan is also included in these nine Indians. Karampal made a video and sent it to his brother and explained his suffering.

In this 33-second video, the victims appealed the Indian government for help. An Indian said, "Hello sir, we 9 Indians are stuck near the Libyan port of Tripoli due to the damage of the plane. We are stuck since January 18, 2023. The atmosphere here is not good. Everyone is scared. We don't know whom under we are. We don't know if it is the local authority or who it is."

He added, "There is an appeal to the Government of India to try to evict us from here as soon as possible." 

Notably, Dharminder, a resident of Kuloth Kalan village in Surajgarh area of Jhunjhanu, said that his elder brother Karampal had joined the Navy in 2007. Dharmendra himself is also in merchant navy but currently is on vacation. Karmapal arrived in Malta (European Island) from India on January 1, 2013. He joined the ship Maya-1 in Malta. There were 8 sailors with him. All had left for Tunisia-Egypt.
