Jammu and Kashmir extends winter vacation for schools amid cold weather (Representative Image)
Earlier today, the Uttar Pradesh government also extended winter vacation for schools, citing cold weather conditions.
Jammu and Kashmir schools vacation: The Directorate of School Education, Jammu, on Sunday announced the extension of winter vacation for schools in Jammu and Kashmir till January 14, 2026, amid cold weather conditions in the region.
The order has been issued in continuation of the Winter Vacation Order dated December 13, 2025, and applies to all government and private schools.

As a severe cold continues in northern India, several states have extended winter vacation for schools.
