Haryana Teacher Murder Case: Last Rites Of Manisha Performed Today Latest News: The last rites of Manisha, a playschool teacher, were performed in Haryana's Bhiwani on Thursday, August 21, 2025.
A large number of people gathered for her last rites. The 19-year-old had gone missing on August 11 after leaving the school that day and was found dead after two days, in a field near a canal at Singhani village of Bhiwani district in Haryana.
Her death sparked outrage from the public. The family and the supporters were not satisfied with the findings after the post-mortem, which pointed to her having committed suicide.
A suicide note had emerged on Monday, earlier this week, which the police said was found the same day the body was discovered, and that her family knew it all along. According to the police, the suicide note was found in her bag lying near her body, and the handwriting matched her writing.
The family demanded a medical examination from AIIMS Delhi and demanded CBI intervention into the case.
Loharu SDM Manoj Kumar Dalal, after the funeral, told ANI, said, "The last rites of Manisha were completed today... The family demanded a CBI inquiry and that the postmortem be performed in AIIMS... The family demands justice... The government and the CBI will take action against the culprits... The family concluded the protests last evening..."
Yesterday, Haryana Women’s Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia said, “This issue has been ongoing for 5-6 days with much hype... We're saddened by the politics surrounding it. The government has accepted every demand of the family... Ultimately, we have to trust the medical reports...”
