The Haryana Government has given in-principle approval for the construction of the country’s tallest building as part of the 1,000-acre Global City project along the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram. The project is still at the proposal stage, with the Request for Proposal (RFP) process pending and consultants yet to be appointed.

The planned tower will be a mixed-use landmark, featuring premium office spaces, global corporate headquarters, hospitality facilities, observation decks, and public areas. It is intended to be an iconic structure, placing Global City alongside international urban hubs known for their skyscrapers, such as Singapore and Dubai.

Officials stated that the development will be executed in a phased and structured manner. Beyond its commercial significance, the project reflects Haryana’s ambitions for rapid urban transformation and economic ambitions. Haryana Industries Minister Rao Narbir said the tower will be a milestone for Gurugram and Haryana, contributing to the city’s emergence as a global trade and business centre.

The Global City project, covering 1,000 acres along the Dwarka Expressway, is expected to become a major financial and innovation hub of the National Capital Region. Once completed, it will support a residential population of approximately 1.8 lakh and a floating population of around 5.2 lakh.

The integrated development will include Light Rapid Transit (LRT), electric buses, pedestrian walkways, and cycling tracks. With a proposed built-up area of over 120 lakh square metres, the project is projected to attract nearly Rs 10 lakh crore in investments, generate more than 5.2 lakh jobs, and host over 200 multinational companies.
