Inderjit Singh Sidhu will be conferred with the prestigious, fourth-highest civilian award, the Padma Shri award, 2026, on Republic Day tomorrow.
A former IPS officer, Sidhu became a social worker driven by his passion for cleanliness. For decades, he collected roadside litter using a cycle cart, without expecting anything in return. His efforts have significantly contributed to keeping Chandigarh clean. At 88 years old, he continues to inspire many with his dedication and selfless service.
