RJD is a Symbol of Dynasty and Nepotism: Nityanand Rai
Patna: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai launched a scathing attack on the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), calling it a "family company" that thrives on dynasty and nepotism. Speaking to the media, Rai claimed that the RJD continues to revolve solely around Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family, sidelining its own workers and marginal communities.
“RJD means only the Lalu family,” said Rai. “What does it indicate that in the past 28 years since its formation, only one person has held the post of national president? This shows that no Dalit, backward, extremely backward, or any other leader can even dream of reaching the top in RJD.”
He further alleged that the party's leadership is not decided based on merit but is firmly controlled by dynastic interests. “This is not a political party, it is a family-run company, where everyone is linked to corruption,” Rai added.
The Minister accused the Lalu family of continuously exploiting the poor and youth of Bihar and snatching away their rights. He criticised the recent nomination for the post of national president, claiming it once again demonstrates the denial of democratic rights to party workers and leaders.
Calling for introspection within the RJD, Rai warned party members to be “alert” and said that RJD's downfall is certain in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
