The Prime Minister said that the lives and ideals of the Sahibzades continue to inspire generations.

Veer Baal Diwas 2025: PM Modi Honours Sahibzades’ Ultimate Sacrifice

On Friday, December 26, 2025, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Veer Baal Diwas is a “day of reverence, dedicated to remembering the sacrifice of the brave Sahibzades,” the sons of Sri Guru Gobind Singh. He highlighted that this observance honours the courage, conviction and righteousness shown by the young martyrs and their unwavering faith, rooted in the teachings of Shri Guru Gobind Singh and the steadfast belief of their grandmother, Mata Gujri Ji. According to government sources, Modi’s remarks were made in an official post on social media platform X on December 26, 2025, on the occasion of Veer Bal Diwas.

The Prime Minister said that the lives and ideals of the Sahibzades continue to inspire generations and that the day serves to inspire future generations through their example of supreme sacrifice.

According to government officials, to commemorate Veer Baal Diwas, the Government of India is organising participative programmes across the country to educate people about the courage and sacrifice of these young heroes. Activities planned include storytelling sessions, recitations, poster-making and essay-writing competitions to engage citizens, particularly youth, in learning about this historic legacy.

Prime Minister Modi will also address an event in New Delhi on the occasion, the official statement said.
