In its legal filing, PPL India has requested the court to prohibit the continued use of its copyrighted music without a licence.

Kapil Sharma News: Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) India has filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against popular comedian Kapil Sharma and Netflix, allegedly for using three unauthorised songs in the third season of “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” Observer Voice reported.

The complaint has been submitted to the Bombay High Court. It alleges that the show used the songs without the necessary licences during its airing from June to September 2025.

PPL lodged the lawsuit on December 12, the report said, citing other reports. The songs allegedly used without obtaining permission from the rights holder include “Munna Bhai MBBS” (2003), “Rama Re” from “Kaante” (2002), and “Subha Hone Na De” from “Desi Boyz” (2011).

In its legal filing, PPL India has requested the court to prohibit the continued use of its copyrighted music without a licence.
