FWICE Lifts Ban On Diljit Dosanjh For Border 2  latest News: The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has lifted its ban on actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, allowing him to resume shooting for Border 2, The Free Press Journal reported.

According to the report, which cites other sources, the producer of the upcoming film Border 2, Bhushan Kumar, pleaded with the federation to allow Diljit to work on the film.

Diljit found himself embroiled in controversy following the release of Sardaar Ji 3, in which he stars opposite Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. The film was released overseas two months after the Pahalgam terror attack, which prompted India to launch Operation Sindoor targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Actress Hania Aamir had publicly condemned India's strategic military action, sparking backlash.

Subsequently, many Pakistani celebrities, including Hania, had their social media accounts banned in India. FWICE criticized Diljit for collaborating with Hania, especially after the renewed ban on Pakistani artists following the Pahalgam attack.

However, Diljit and the film’s team maintained that the movie was shot before the Pahalgam incident and the casting was finalized long before that.

FWICE lifted the ban on Diljit after Bhushan Kumar personally reached out and appealed to the federation. This was confirmed by the association’s President, B. N. Tiwari, according to the Free Press Journal.

Veteran filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, who is associated with FWICE, stated that while the ban has been lifted, it comes with a warning. “We have non-cooperation against Diljit continuing. Anyone else who casts him must be prepared for consequences. The Federation won’t be responsible for the financial losses that might follow,” Pandit told India Today.

He added, “Bhushan ji and his team were keen on taking a decision that is pro-country, but he also explained that the film is nearly 80–85 per cent complete and most of Diljit’s work is done. So, he requested the federation to allow him to complete this film, and in the future, he will not cast him again. He will be issuing a formal letter to that effect.”

Yesterday, to the delight of fans, Diljit Dosanjh shared a reel showing behind-the-scenes moments from the Border 2 shoot. Dressed in full costume, he was seen dancing and vibing with background performers, while the iconic track "Sandese Aate Hain" from the 1997 film Border played in the background.
