BCCI Rewards Indian Men’s Team Rs 131 Crore After Historic T20 Win
The Indian men’s cricket team has been awarded Rs 131 crore following their historic third T20 World Cup victory and successful title defense. The prize will be shared among the 15 players, coaching staff, and other support personnel. Players will receive Rs 6 crore each, while Rs 41 crore will go to coaching and support staff according to their roles. This amount is Rs 6 crore more than what the 2024 championship team, led by Rohit Sharma, received.
Captained by Suryakumar Yadav, India defeated New Zealand by 96 runs in the final at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on Sunday, marking the first successful defense of the T20 World Cup title. The win underscores India’s dominance in the shortest format of international cricket.
“The board congratulates the players, support staff, and selectors on this historic milestone and wishes them continued success,” said BCCI Secretary Devjit Sahi.
