The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will boycott the President’s address to be held before the budget session on January 29 to support the farmers

Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will boycott the President’s address to be held before the budget session on January 29 to support the farmers and in protest against the three black farm laws.

AAP‘s state president and MP Bhagwant Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Party had been opposing the three anti-farmer laws passed by the BJP government since day one. He said by bringing an ordinance in a surreptitious manner to implement these farm laws in the time of a pandemic, Prime Minister Narendra Modi government was trying to benefit a handful of industrialists.

Mann said that the Modi government was trying to outrightly sell the entire agriculture sector to some of their favourite industrialists. “The Aam Aadmi Party strongly opposes such non-democratic decisions and anti-people laws. The party was opposing these laws from the very first day – from Parliament to the streets,” he added.

Mann said, whether we protested against these laws inside the Parliament or MPs had to spent nights under the Gandhi statue, whether Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal tearing down the copies of black farm laws in Delhi Assembly to working as ‘sevadars’ at Singhu Border to serve the farmers brothers who were agitating; our party leaders and activists with full vigor had opposed these black laws and tried their best to help and support the agitating farmers in every possible way.

“In this series, the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party under national convener Arvind Kejriwal has decided to boycott the President‘s address in the Parliament on January 29. All three Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MPs and Lok Sabha MP will boycott this session,” said Mann.

He said that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party stands beside the protesting farmers at the borders as ‘sevadars’. He added that the AAP had been opposing three black farm laws since the beginning and would continue to do so till the Modi government repeals these black laws.
