Satinder Singh PPS, SSP, S.A.S. Nagar informed that under the supervision of Dr. Ravjot Grewal IPS SP rural S.A.S. Nagar and Bikramjit Singh Brar PPS, DSP Mullanpur, a drive against criminals/gangsters has been initiated. As the result of this drive four armed associates of Sampat Nehra and Deepak @ Tinu, prominent members of Lawrance Bishnoi group have been arrested.

Lawrance Bishnoi criminal group has indulged in dacoties, murders and extortion in the states of Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and UT Chandigarh.

SSP Mohali further informed that in the intervening night of 18/19-01- 2021, SHO City Kurali received a reliable input that this gang was active in Kurali area and may commit some sensational crime in the area. Acting on tip off SHO city kurali along with teams of district police S.A.S. Nagar arrested the following accused along with their weapons.

A case FIR No. 04 dated 19-01-2021 u/s 399, 402, IPC and 25, 54, 59 Arms Act has been registered against them at PS City Kurali.

Case registered on missing idols Case registeredDetail of arrested accused and recovered weapons include Darshan Singh s/o Sohan Singh r/o Village Amlala PS Derabassi Distt- SAS Nagar with 7.65 mm Pistol along with 06 live cartridges, Manish Kumar s/o Gurnam Singh r/p Village Bibipur PS Julka Distt- Patiala with 12 Bore Single Barrel Gun with 02 live cartridges, Suraj s/o Raju r/o Kurali Distt SAS Nagar with 7.65 mm Pistol along with 05 live cartridges and Bhagat Singh @ Honey s/o Sarwan Singh r/o Kurali Distt SAS Nagar with One Pistol, 315 Bore along 04 live cartridges.

SSP Mohali further mentioned that two of the above accused have criminal background. One of the arrested accused Darshan Singh was absconding in a murder case FIR no 300 date 1.11.2017 u/s 302,379-B,109,506,2016,120B IPC,25 Arms Act PS Civil Line Bhiwani, Harayana. He is co-accused of Deepak Tinu in this case. Another accused Manish Kumar was involved in case FIR no 31 date 5.5.2016 u/s 302,34 IPC PS Julka Distt Patiala.

In the initial interrogation,they disclosed that they were ready to strike at the targets given to them by their jail inmates. Recently they were part of firing incident at Malerkotla. They were trying to revive their gang to initiate their criminal activities.
