Chandigarh: Petrol and diesel prices are increasing day by day. While crude oil prices have been falling steadily in the international market, petrol and diesel prices have been rising continuously in the country.

Petrol and diesel prices hikedNow, the Punjab government has also increased the prices of petrol and diesel in the state on the lines of the Union government. In Punjab, petrol is increased at around Rs 2.58 per litre and diesel at Rs 1.05 per litre. In Punjab, the hike was due to the increase in VAT on petrol and diesel by the state government.

With this, the price of petrol has gone up to Rs 79 per litre and diesel to Rs 69.2 per litre. Rising petrol and diesel prices have caused great hardship to the common man. In addition, the lives of ordinary people have been greatly affected.

In the national capital, petrol cost now at Rs 77.28 a litre on Wednesday while the price of diesel has gone up to Rs 75.79 per litre.
