In a moment of immense pride for Sirhind and the entire Fatehgarh Sahib district, Dr. Hitender Suri, Managing Director of Rana Hospital, Sirhind, has been conferred with the Punjab Government State Award 2025, one of the highest civilian honours of the state, on the occasion of Independence Day. The award was presented by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Punjab, Sh. Bhagwant Mann, in the presence of K.A.P. Sinha, Chief Secretary of Punjab and Sh. Gaurav Yadav, Director General of Police (DGP) of Punjab, in recognition of Dr. Suri’s extraordinary contributions to healthcare and social service, particularly for the welfare of backwards classes.

With an illustrious career spanning over two decades, Dr. Suri has transformed the lives of thousands through his selfless service. Since 2011, he has been organising free medical camps, conducting 2,700 free surgeries and 135 awareness camps on rectal cancer, taking vital healthcare to rural and underserved communities.

Over the years, Dr. Suri has been honoured with 55 prestigious awards at national and international levels, including the Dhanwantri Award (2018) – the highest recognition in the field of Ayurveda. In addition, he holds an unparalleled 23 records in the health sector – 8 international records and 15 national records – many of which are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records, Limca Book of Records, and the World Book of Records.

Dr. Suri has also been conferred with the District Award on four occasions (2016, 2021,2024 and 2025) on Independence Day, for his exceptional contributions to public health and community welfare. His pioneering efforts include treating the longest fistula in medical history (117 cm) using the Ayurvedic Kshar Sutra technique, authoring two medical books, and publishing 11 research papers in international journals.

Notably, his “Run for Life – Anti-Drug Marathon”, organised in collaboration with the Punjab Government under the “Yudh Nasheya Virudh” campaign, set a national record for participation, spreading a powerful message against substance abuse. On this very day, Dr. Suri was also awarded the “Parman Patra” by the Deputy Commissioner, Fatehgarh Sahib, further recognising his exceptional and consistent service to society.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Suri dedicated the State Award to “the people of Punjab” and expressed his gratitude to all those who have supported his journey. “This honour is a motivation to continue serving humanity with greater commitment,” he said.
This recognition marks yet another glorious chapter in Dr. Suri’s remarkable journey, solidifying his place as one of Punjab’s most dedicated healthcare leaders and social reformers.
