SIT Cites Lack of Grounds for Bail; Court Orders Bail Petition Copy to Be Provided to Complainant

CHANDIGARH: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Chandigarh Police has responded to the anticipatory bail application of Haryana Minister Sandeep Singh, who is entangled in a sexual harassment case involving a junior female coach from Haryana. The SIT's reply to the court unequivocally asserts that there are insufficient grounds to grant Sandeep Singh bail, thereby recommending the dismissal of his bail petition. In response, the legal representatives of the coach expressed their dissent in court regarding Sandeep Singh's bail application.

Another hearing concerning this matter is scheduled for today. During the proceedings, the coach's attorney pointed out that the accused's anticipatory bail petition had not been made available to the complainant. Consequently, an application was submitted to the court, prompting the court to order the provision of the bail petition's copy to the complainant. The SIT from Chandigarh, however, countered this by stating that Sandeep Singh does not meet the criteria for bail.
