Sharing information on this issue, Civil Surgeon of Gurdaspur, Jaswinder Singh, said that Kalanaur was the most affected area due to floodwaters, and from this area alone, 24 cases of snake bites have been reported. Six cases were reported from Gurdaspur and one from Dera Baba Nanak. He said that these 31 cases are only from flood-affected areas, while six other cases came from different regions.

He further informed that all these patients were successfully treated and have already been discharged from hospitals. He also added that more than 1,100 doses of anti-venom injections are available in the Civil Hospital, so there is no need to panic.

He appealed to people that in case of a snake bite, the nearest health center should be immediately informed so that the patient can receive timely treatment.
