Chandigarh (Spokesman News Service), 9th Oct'18: The Government agencies and private millers have procured 201593.5 metric tonnes of Paddy in Punjab till October 8. Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Government of Punjab informed that out of the total procurement of 201593.5 MT of paddy from various procurement centres in the State, the Government agencies procured 187841.5 MT of paddy while 13752 MT has been procured by the millers.
Giving the details, the spokesman said that PUNGRAIN had procured 50631 tonnes, MARKFED procured 48419.5 tonnes and PUNSUP procured 42957 tonnes while Punjab State Warehousing Corporation and Punjab Agro Foodgrains Corporation procured 20497 and 24764 MT paddy respectively. The Centre government agency FCI has procured 573 MT paddy.
