Chandigarh (Spokesman News Service): Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Minister-in-Charge, Department of Housing & Urban Development, Government of Punjab revealed that the State Government is working tirelessly to fulfill the housing needs of the residents of the State and thus the Department is launching schemes for allotment of residential plots in different areas across State.

He said that on the auspicious occasion of Navratras, Amritsar Development Authority would launch the scheme for inviting applications for allotment of 140 residential plots at new Urban Estate, Batala, District Gurdaspur. In the scheme, allotment price has been fixed at Rs. 9990/-. Scheme, which would begin on October 10, 2018 would close on November 9, 2018. Besides, this scheme, another scheme is being launched in Bathinda for allotment of 74 residential plots, he said.

The Minister said that both the schemes, preference in allotment shall be given to the senior citizens and women applicants as per the decision of the State Government. The provision of allotment under preferential category has been made in the policy for providing social security to the old age and women.

Ms. Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Housing & Urban Development, Government of Punjab stated that the draw of lots for the allotment of plots to the applicants of the scheme shall be held on December 11, 2018. While the applicants would be depositing 10% price of the plot as earnest money alongwith aplication, the next instalment of 15% shall be paid within 30 days of issuance of LoI. Remaining 75% amount could be paid by the allottee in lump-sum to avail rebate of 5% or otherwise in 6 equated half yearly instalments with interet @ 12% per annum. 

Besides, there would be option to submit applications online, where the applicants will have to visit the websitewww.adaamritsar.gov.in. In online application system, the applicant will have to make payment through RTGS/NEFT. Possession of the plots shall be handed over to the allottees within 90 days from the issuance of allotment letter.
