Punjab Police is on High Alert & Every Single Movement is being Monitored in the State

CHANDIGARH: The holidays of Punjab Police personnel have been cancelled till April 14 over 'Waris Punjab De' Chief and radical Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh called for a meeting of Sikhs. The orders have been issued by the DGP (Director General of Police) Gaurav Yadav due to safety concerns of the public. The leaves of all gazetted and non-gazetted officers have been cancelled.

Notably, Sources said that the decision of Punjab Police is being linked with Amritpal Singh's demand to call Sarbat Khalsa (Religious Assembly of Sikhs) in Talwandi Sabo on the occasion of Baisakhi on April 14. However, the demand has not received the approval of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, the supreme authority of Sikhs.
