Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra Opens Fire At Police, Escapes Police Custody Latest News: AAP MLA Harmeet Singh Pathanmajra, from Sanour assembly constituency in Patiala district, was arrested by Patiala Police from Karnal, Haryana, on Tuesday morning.

Soon after the arrest, he reportedly escaped police custody when the police were taking him to a police station in Punjab. He and his associates reportedly opened fire at the security personnel and managed to flee the scene in a Scorpio and a Fortuner vehicle.

Police have been able to catch Fortuner along with the driver and recovered three pistols. The MLA in question and his other associates are on the run, and the police are after them.

Earlier, before the arrest, Pathanmajra had released a video saying that the Punjab Police has registered a case under Section 376 (rape) of the IPC in an old case related to his ex-wife.

Meanwhile, during a press conference by Baltej Pannu in Patiala, it was revealed that action was being taken against MLA Pathanmajra only based on a complaint of a woman.

Pathanmajra had reportedly threatened a woman to make objectionable videos and photos viral, following which a case was registered against him under various sections, including rape.

Baltej Pannu, in the press release, said that when Pathanmajra learnt that actions could be taken against him, he stated, criticizing his own party regarding the flood situation in the state.
