Spokesman in its investigation found that the viral picture is quite old 

Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse: It has been 17 days since the workers were trapped in the under-construction tunnel at Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand and according to the latest reports of today (November 28, 2023), 41 workers trapped in the tunnel will be saved out soon. Meanwhile, a picture of an elderly person is going viral on social media, which is being shared and it is claimed that this picture is of a laborer trapped in a tunnel.

Facebook user "Parvinder Singh Mullanpur" shared the viral picture and wrote, "If we can't reach the workers trapped in the tunnel, then what is the use of reaching the moon! Congratulations again to the countrymen of Chandrayaan's success!"

Spokesman in its investigation found that the viral picture is quite old and has nothing to do with the workers trapped in the under-construction tunnel at Uttarkashi.

Starting the investigation we first did an reverse image search on the viral image.

Viral Picture Is Old

We found this picture published by Facebook page 'Old Age Care Trust' on 25th December 2020. However, this image was used in the post to solicit donations and help from people.

Same, we found this picture shared by another Facebook page on 28 September 2020. This page posted this picture in an emotional way.

"Rozana spokesperson does not make any official confirmation about the date and location of this picture but confirms that the picture is not of the worker trapped in the under-construction tunnel at Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. This picture has been on the internet for many years as well."

Conclusion- Spokesman in its investigation found that the viral picture is quite old and has nothing to do with the workers trapped in the under-construction tunnel at Uttarkashi.
