Actor Aamir Khan reveals nephew Imran khan ‘is not comfortable with herogiri’… “he’s good-looking”

Actor Aamir Khan revealed that his nephew, former actor Imran Khan, had shared with him the reason why he decided to quit acting.

It has been 10 years since Imran Khan left the film industry.

Speaking with Screen, the 3 Idiots actor said, "Yes, Imran has a certain creative instinct. He finds it difficult to fit into the mainstream construct we have. That’s not his natural space. Which is why he did really well in films like Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na and Delhi Belly (2011). He’s in his element there."

Aamir said that his nephew wanted to portray real people and was not comfortable with doing typical 'herogiri'.

“The moment you put him into a regular Hindi film, he doesn’t fit. He’s not comfortable with ‘herogiri’. He wants to play a real person. Everybody was offering him mainstream films because he’s good-looking. But he wants to be an actor, not a star," Aamir added.

Imran Khan began his acting career in Bollywood with a strong debut in the 2008 film Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na, which became a youth favorite and a commercial success. He had previously appeared as a child artist in Aamir’s films like Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak and Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.

Following his debut, Imran starred in a series of romantic comedies and dramas such as I Hate Luv Storys (2010), Delhi Belly (2011), Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (2012), and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (2011). While he gained initial popularity, his later films like Katti Batti (2015) didn’t perform well, leading to a slowdown in his career.
