During the grueling 15-lap final race, Mir asserted absolute control right from the starting line.
Eleven-year-old Indian racer Atiqa Mir delivered a flawless performance at the second round of the Champions of the Future Academy Program, registering her career's most significant milestone. Competing in the highly competitive OK-NJ division, which caters to drivers aged 12 to 14, Meer completely dominated the field across the entire international race weekend.
During the grueling 15-lap final race, Mir asserted absolute control right from the starting line. She built a commanding 3.9-second lead within the opening eight laps on a physically punishing track circuit, managing her pace meticulously until the checkered flag to seal the top spot on the podium.
Backed by the elite Formula One Academy, the young racing prodigy consistently outpaced a highly experienced grid of international drivers during her debut season in this advanced category. Her clinical weekend performance established Meer as only the third driver in the history of the global championship series to sweep qualifying, heat races, and both final events.
Mir set the weekend’s baseline during the initial qualifying sessions, clocking a record-breaking lap time of 56.77 seconds to secure pole position. After maintaining her front-running momentum to finish first in consecutive heat races, she comfortably locked in the front-row grid position for the main event.
Standing atop the podium as the national anthem played, Mir acknowledged that overcoming the demanding track brings her closer to her ultimate career objective of entering Formula One.
