A 21-year-old man in UP posing as an Army Brigadier was caught with a fake ID card and a replica weapon

Uttar Pradesh: A bizarre news has come from UP, where a 21-year-old man posing as a brigadier in the Indian Army caught  via a sting operation in Shajahanpur cantonment.

Aaryan Verma, who used to be a NEET aspirant, decided to become a fake army officer after he failed the medical entrance examination. Aryan convinced his family and neighbours that he was the youngest Brigadier in history.

However, the scam was obvious to any real army officer since reaching the rank takes years of service, and there is no shortcut to it. So when the Army officials got to know about the young guy roaming around the district in a uniform and posing as a brigadier, they decided to set a trap for him, and Verma walked right into it.

An Army personnel reached Verma as a civilian and invited him to an event to motivate the defense aspirants with his words.
On Friday morning, the accused arrived at the venue in an SUV, dressed as a Brigadier. He was accompanied by two bouncers, whom he allegedly introduced as National Security Guard (NSG) commandos.

Verma was then taken into custody, and weapons, documents, and a forged ID card were recovered from him.

The accused is now being questioned and investigated by the officials.

"Once the Army completes its inquiry and transfers custody to the police, an FIR will be registered, and a comprehensive investigation will be carried out,” Said Superintendent of police Saurabh Dixit.
