Initiative aimed at ensuring better drinking water facilities for thousands of devotees visiting the Golden Temple daily
In a gesture aimed at enhancing facilities for devotees, Bank of India has donated 12 water coolers at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple). The initiative was undertaken to provide clean drinking water facilities to the large number of devotees visiting the holy shrine every day.
On the occasion, senior officials of Bank of India, including Zonal Manager Rajesh Kumar Bains, Marketing Manager Abhijeet Ranjan, Branch Manager Vikramjit Singh, Branch Officer Keshav Singh Singla, Gurmukh Singh and other officials were present.
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) honoured the bank officials for their contribution. SGPC OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, Dharam Parchar Committee Secretary Gurinder Singh Mathrewal and Private Secretary Shahbaz Singh presented the bank representatives with a siropa (robe of honour) and a picture of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Speaking on the occasion, Dharam Parchar Committee Secretary Gurinder Singh Mathrewal said that thousands of devotees visit Sri Harmandir Sahib daily to pay obeisance and contribute towards various services at the holy shrine. He said the donation of water coolers by Bank of India is a valuable service for the convenience of devotees.
Mathrewal appreciated the bank’s efforts and expressed hope that the institution would continue to support services at Guru Ghar in the future.
Meanwhile, Bank of India Zonal Manager Rajesh Kumar Bains said that officials of the bank visited Sri Darbar Sahib to pay obeisance and seek the blessings of Guru Sahib. He said they prayed for continued blessings for the bank employees and strength to serve devotees and society.
The SGPC appreciated the bank’s initiative as part of the ongoing efforts to improve facilities for pilgrims visiting Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
