Wangchuk seeks hospital discharge to join Parliament march as doctors keep close watch on his blood parameters.
Asserting that he was feeling "very fine" and that his health indicators were normal, activist Sonam Wangchuk asked the medical superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital on Monday to grant him permission to leave "even if temporarily" in order to take part in the Cockroach Janta Party's Parliament march. Wangchuk said, "This is to state that I am feeling very fine today and my health parameters are also showing as quite normal," in a handwritten note to the medical superintendent. Therefore, I humbly ask that you grant me permission to leave the hospital, even if only temporarily, so that I can participate in this morning's Sansad Chalo march to Parliament."
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk's vital parameters are stable, but his blood parameters require close monitoring by doctors. The Safdarjung Hospital administration provided this information on Monday. The hospital said that Wangchuk is continuously undergoing medical treatment and a team of specialists is closely monitoring his health condition.
In a health bulletin issued at 10 AM, the hospital stated, "Sonam Wangchuk is receiving appropriate medical treatment at VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital. His vital parameters are stable. However, his blood parameters require continuous close medical monitoring. Wangchuk is undergoing continuous treatment, and a multi-disciplinary team of specialists is constantly monitoring his health condition."
The bulletin further stated, "Based on the clinical assessment conducted by doctors from VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS, New Delhi, continuous medical intervention and uninterrupted medical monitoring are necessary for early detection of potential complications and to ensure timely treatment. He is being provided with all necessary medical care."Wangchuk was forcibly taken by Delhi Police from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital on Saturday, the 21st day of his indefinite hunger strike. He had begun the indefinite hunger strike on June 28 in support of the ongoing movement led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) against alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and the alleged deaths of students linked to the controversy.
