Kejriwal says no response received to letter seeking appointment to discuss E20 petrol concerns

Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the AAP, announced on Monday that he and 100 others would march to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home on Tuesday to deliver petitions opposing E20 fuel, claiming the Centre is pushing it due to pressure from US President Donald Trump. Kejriwal claimed that the government's ongoing drive for ethanol-blended gasoline revealed a "hidden agenda" and that India has "yielded" to Trump by purchasing ethanol from the US.

"Tomorrow, I'm going to the PM's house with a hundred individuals to personally deliver the public-signed petitions and talk about ethanol-blended gasoline. Despite what the government is doing, people are having several issues with their cars, which indicates that there is a covert goal," Kejriwal stated. After receiving no answer to a letter he addressed to the prime minister last month requesting an appointment to discuss concerns over E20 petrol, Kejriwal declared he would personally deliver the petitions to Modi. In his letter, Kejriwal had sought the availability of options for both pure petrol and E20 fuel at petrol stations, besides demanding a reduction in the price of ethanol-blended petrol.

"We did not get any response to the letter, so now we will personally hand over the petition to PM Modi. We had launched a petition campaign against ethanol-blended petrol. More than 2 lakh people have signed this petition," he said. Kejriwal also said the "Ethanol Townhall" organised by the AAP last week was a "huge success", with several people joining the meeting virtually.
