Bilaspur Ranks 17th in PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana

Himachal's Bilaspur district secures17th rank among 100 districts under PM Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana.

Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar said on Thursday that the Himachal Pradesh district of Bilaspur was ranked 17th in India out of 100 districts chosen for the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana.

After congratulating the officers, Kumar urged department heads to set yearly targets and work methodically to guarantee that the program, which aims to increase crop yield in the designated districts, makes at least 10% progress annually.Additionally, the deputy commissioner (DC) gave particular attention to timely target achievement, improved outcomes, and regular assessments of departmental accomplishments. In order to improve departmental collaboration and expedite the schemes' implementation, he added, a review meeting will take place on the fourth of each month.

He told the meeting's participants that the Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhanya Krishi Yojana has chosen 100 districts nationwide, with Bilaspur being the lone Himachal Pradesh district. According to Kumar, the district has a significant chance to implement significant reforms in agriculture and associated fields. According to the DC, the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhanya Krishi Yojana is a comprehensive campaign to boost farmers' income, encourage modern and sustainable agriculture, make better use of natural resources, and advance the general development of agriculture and related sectors. Increasing agricultural productivity, encouraging crop diversification and sustainable farming methods, building post-harvest storage and processing facilities, bolstering irrigation infrastructure, expanding farmers' access to short-term and long-term agricultural loans, and enhancing good governance and service delivery are the program's six main goals.

In order for the district's farmers to profit as much as possible from the program and for Bilaspur to become a strong leader among the districts that do well nationally, Kumar asked all departments to collaborate responsibly under a shared action plan.
