CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu concludes visit with foundation-laying for multiple key projects in Chamba

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth several crore rupees during his two-day visit to Chamba district. Among the key projects was a newly constructed 200-bed building at Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College and Hospital, Chamba, along with the foundation stone-laying for roads worth approximately Rs 175 crore. The Chief Minister received a rousing welcome upon arriving at the venue.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that work on expanding the road network in Chamba district is currently underway. He announced that construction work on roads worth Rs 591 crore will begin in the district within the next 2-3 months. Today, roads worth Rs 175 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones laid in Chamba district, along with the foundation stone-laying for a parking facility to be built for Rs 32 crore.

The Chief Minister added that a new 200-bed building constructed at Rs 198 crore at the medical college was also dedicated to the public. He said that the previous BJP government had paid no attention to the medical college's construction for nine years, whereas the current government provided Rs 192 crore in the first phase, an additional Rs 70 crore in the second phase, and Rs 194 crore in the third phase for the medical college's construction. He further stated that all outdated machines at Chamba Medical College will be replaced with new, high-quality, technologically advanced equipment.
